BORN APRIL 3, 2003. 6 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches long! My first 2 weeks of life were spent in the NICU at CHKD!
I was born with Spina Bifida. The #1 disabiling birth defect! I went through two major surgeries within the first 4 days of my life.
I have been through alot in my little life. I have had 5 major procedures; closing of my spine, VP shunt, bladder augmentation, vestocostomy, & cycostomy! Those are pretty big words for you to understand, so just check out my story. My Mommy explains it all!..... Through all this I have faught hard to stay strong, and my Mommy & Daddy have been right by my side the whole time!!
This Is Dr. Winslow! He is the surgeon that gave Joanna independence! I can't thank him enough! He will always have a special place in our hearts!
